{Bubble Helmet}
An installation/performance art piece I designed. It is meant to reevaluate the concept of ‘conditioned space,’ where the conditioned interior is just a suit with a bubble connected, insulating one human, while the wooden boundary functions like a fence, providing social insulation. The characterization of conditioned versus social insulation strays from current architectural conventions where insulation is equal to ‘interior,’ and neglects the notion of social distance (pre-COVID). This installation proposes a situation where closeness and distance can exist at the same time.
